“Happy Holidays” Cake

Ingredients

1 measure whiskey
4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
4 eggs
8 ounces candied fruits
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 sticks butter

Pour one measure of the whiskey (Old Grandad, Old Crow, Old Socks, whatever) to check for freshness.  Sift the flour and spices together in a bowl.  Soften the butter and cream it with the sugar.  Whew.  Pour off another measure of whiskey to taste.  Add the milk and eggs to the butter mixturr and blent.  One more cup of whiskey for luck.  Add the vanellla and bakkint powder.  Carefully folt under the flour and spices mixes.  Take a measure of whissey stedeye thee nerveees.  Brak egggz en bowle.  Smashem blend.  Whiskey again for hollyday cher.  Eat candys frutes.  Mor whisskys.  Toass for luck ress of whhisk. Turn oven over hot.  Put in cakeoven.  Sooo triiiered.  Gotta sleepe.  At least offer the firemen some cake for their trouble this time.
