Try any of these variations when good basil gets scarce in the lean, mean months in the Midwest.
- Heat butter in 10 inch skillet over med-high heat, swirling constantly until golden brown and butter has nutty aroma (2-4 minutes).
- Remove from heat and add chopped sage to butter.
- Set aside to cool, about 10 minutes.
- Microwave garlic for 5 seconds, peel and mince.
- Pulse garlic, parsley, nuts and cheese in food processor. Add butter mixture and blend until finely ground.
