Brown meat; break up into crumbles. (This is best done in the microwave.) Add onions & green pepper; stir and cook till onion is tender.
Put mixture into large saucepan or slow cooker; add remaining ingredients. Cover, simmer one hour at least. Flavor improves with longer cooking. Serve with kidney beans, noodles, grated cheese, taco chips, etc.
