Ingredients
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup and 2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 stick butter
6 tablespoons milk
Beat 4 eggs till lemon colored.
Add: 2 c. sugar; gradually, beating constantly. 2 c. flour with 2 tsp. bkg. powder and 1/2 tsp. salt. 1 c. milk with 3 T butter to boiling point. Add to batter and beat well. 1 tsp. vanilla and beat. Bake 30 mins. at 350 degrees.
When cake is almost done:
Mix: 1 c. and 2 T brown sugar, 1 stick butter, 6 T milk.
Heat in pan to soft ball stage. Add 2 c. coconut. Spread on cake. Place in broiler till brown.
